Arriving in Wuhan after dark, we still voted to visit an amazing "rock museum", before going to the hotel. Due to the construction of the massive Three Gorges Dam, cruises on the Yangtze no longer start from Wuhan. Instead, we took a fascinating five-hour bus ride to the dam site where, greeted by the 'Sheena All Girl Brass Band", we boarded the Sheena, our ship and home for the next few days. During the bus drive, we had excellent views of farming communities, where water buffaloes are still used for plowing fields (unfortunately, no pictures yet). Following the first night on the boat, we toured the dam site, and as the days passed, stopped every day for interesting side journeys. One of the more interesting of these was the use of 'trackers', hardy individuals who pulled our peapod boats up the Shennang stream where more shopping opportunities awaited.
