A Visit to Singapore

A quick business trip for a week in Singapore by way of Tokyo and Hong Kong. Only a few pictures in town, but a day off to visit the Sungei Buloh Nature Park and the amazing Jurong Bird Park. For more (and better) pictures of Singapore birds, do visit Doug Jansen's page. The biggest surprise for me was how much English is used in Singapore -- all the signs are in English and pretty much everybody speaks it well. Shopping and eating seem to be the dominant hobbies. If it weren't for the food, the flags everywhere, and the unfailing courtesy of the people, you might think you were in Houston.
