These pages include photographs of birds I've been taking since June 2004, in the backyard in the Sandia foothills, up in the Sandias, along the Rio Grande, other places in New Mexico, and a few from trips elsewhere in the country. There are lots more bird pictures on my travel page from trips to Central and South America, Asia, and one of these days, Africa. Earlier pictures were taken with an Olympus D-490 Zoom, then a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 (loved that camera!), a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18, and Canon Powershot SD450. Pictures since April 2009 were taken with a Nikon D90 usually with a 70-300 mm lens, and a few with an 18-105 mm lens, then in August, 2013, I kicked it up a notch with a Nikon D7100, and a couple of new lenses including an 80-400 mm. Next, in early 2021, a Sony RX10iv was added to the mix. In March, 2011, I also started a blog since there's a lot more time these days to get out birding and taking some pictures. The address is http://joeschelling.wordpress.com if you're interested in taking a look. This page shows photos from the current year, entered basically in reverse chronological order. Photos saved from previous years, organized taxonomically, are shown on a series of pages starting at the following link: Click on any of the thumbnails for a larger version. |
